The answer to what is a keyword tool can be explained in just a few short paragraphs, and understanding how to use a keyword tool can be explained in just a few steps.
Today we dive into the world of keywords and how, if used correctly, they can help your online business grow and bring in unlimited free traffic to your website.
What Is A Keyword Tool
A keyword tool is an online tool we can use to help find certain words or phrases, that people are typing into Google search.
A good keyword research tool should also show us how many times people are typing in these keywords or phrases, and also show us the competition for this keyword in regards to SEO.

What Is A Keyword Tool For?
By identifying what keywords are being typed into Google and how often, along with how much competition there is for these keywords, we can make informed decisions on keywords we use in our website pages, website blogs, and other online business marketing strategies.
What A Keyword Tool Can Tell Us:
- How many times per month people are searching for certain keywords and phrases.
- Will show us related keywords based on your chosen keyword.
- The competition for that keyword, how many other websites are trying to rank for that exact keyword.
- Show us informed information on whether or not we should use this keyword or not.
By using a keyword search tool we can find the best keywords to use in our websites, with low competition. This means our chances of ranking for that keyword in Google search ranking increases dramatically.
Using A Keyword Tool To Find High Value Keywords
For this example, I have started exploring the keyword “Golf Grass Seed” with the keyword research tool Jaaxy.
After typing in my keyword and clicking “Find Keywords” Jaaxy shows me a list of:
- My chosen Keyword.
- Related keywords.
- The competition for these keywords.
- If the domain name is available for purchase.
The QSR column is our competition score. 0 is best and as you can see I have struck a gold mine of low competition keywords I can now use in my website blogs and website pages.
Since there is no competition for these keywords my chances of ranking in Google search increase greatly.
By getting blogs to rank on page one of Google, free traffic is inevitable.

As you can see each keyword has over 100 searches per month which is represented under the AVG column.
Although the amount of monthly searches is rather low, there is no competition for these keywords so getting your blogs ranked and receiving the traffic from Google will be well worth it and a lot easier than keywords with a QSR score of over 100.
What Is The Best Keyword Tool?
Almost all of my keyword research that I do is with the help of 3 keyword research tools.
