How Does The Google Core Update Effect Us?
As of 5 March 2024, the Google core update rolled out its new criteria in regard to its approach to AI-created information, and how it translates this information into Google rankings.
So what does this mean for bloggers and pre-existing content?
There are now websites pumping out thousands of posts per day with the help of AI, and this has become an increasing concern within Google’s criteria.
Here is an example:
This website: FreshersLive.com got over 1 million views in 1 week from a website that was spinning off thousands of blog posts per day using AI article creators.
From Google Adsense, this website was earning hundreds of thousands per month alone through free traffic generated from AI content.
Since the update on March 5th, 2024, this website’s pages and posts have not ranked at all.
From millions of clicks per month to almost 0.
Google Search is now looking at AI content as “spam,
This doesn’t mean you cannot re-word AI content to make it sound more human, but AI-generated content alone is not going to rank in search engines.
The updates regarding AI-generated content will leave many websites all over the world dropping off the ranking in Google searches.
It will mean that we, as bloggers will have to write more human, interactive quality information to increase our chances of ranking in Google searches.
So what does this mean for bloggers using AI? Can we still use it?
The short answer is yes…and no…
Can I Still Use AI To Write Blogs?
Although Google is cracking down on AI-created blogs, it does not mean the average blogger cannot use AI to assist with writing their blogs.
As taught in the Wealthy Affiliate training, AI blog writers can be used, however, each paragraph must be gone through and re-worded to make your own, and to make it sound more human, and less AI.
How much of this we need to change as a %, is still unknown, however, if you are in doubt…
WRITE YOUR BLOG WITHOUT USING AI!
Spending a day to create a blog, or even 2, is still worth it if your blog is going to rank, or have more chance of ranking.
Keep your blogs genuine, unique, and above all filled with helpful content.
